How could Germany rearm so quickly to start World War II?

After the defeat in World War I, Germany was stripped of its military power by the Treaty of Versailles. However, national resentment and the economic crisis created the perfect ground for the emergence of a new reconstruction project. During the 1920s, under the guise of compliance with the treaty, the country maintained secret contacts with other states, such as the Soviet Union, to train officers, test weapons, and keep German military expertise alive. Everything was done in the shadows, away from the eyes of the victorious Allies. Credit to: Der Kommandant English
