How Do Former SS Men Live Today After World War 2?
At the end of World War II, thousands of Nazi officers managed to escape the collapse of the Third Reich and avoid international justice. South America—especially Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Chile—became a haven for many of them thanks to escape networks known as “ratlines,” supported by sympathizers, institutions, and even governments. This phenomenon allowed war criminals like Josef Mengele and Adolf Eichmann to assume new identities, find work, and receive protection far from Europe. Credit to : Frontline War Memoirs
