The Boneyard
The 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (309th AMARG) is a one-of-a-kind specialized facility located on Davis-Monthan AFB. More than 4,400 aircraft from the Air Force, Navy-Marine Corps, Army, Coast Guard, federal agencies and foreign allies reside at the “Boneyard.” Some aircraft are just taking a brief respite, others stay for an extended furlough. Many supply parts to keep their brethren flying and will never leave intact, and a few are here for only a few days to be updated.
