Enraged over the sneak-attack on Pearl Harbor, just going to war with Japan over was not going to be enough to calm the fury of the United States. The American Government believed that the clearest course of action would be to get direct revenge on the man who planned the strike. With help from Japanese-Americans, the U.S. intelligence community launched Operation Vengeance and began to track the movement of Japanese Marshal Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto across the Pacific Theater.
