The Bundeswehr was created to be a new army for a democratic West Germany, but many of its officers came from Hitler’s Wehrmacht.
This video looks at the sons of famous German generals, including Heinz Guderian, Walter Model and Erich von Manstein, and how their families became connected to West Germany’s new armed forces.
