What was the world’s first car? Was it, in fact, British? What defines a ‘car’ anyway? Here, while I construct a model of the most famous of the various ‘first cars’, I discuss other contenders for the honour, then spend some while tinkering with the model to get it to work, and then explain it workings.
This video was an utter nightmare to edit. It involved many days of work, very numerous and inexplicable computer crashes, the sudden loss of two days’ work, and multiple attempts to render, so I hope that someone somewhere likes it. Is it better that I give you something other than my face to look at while I’m talking? Is this the right way to do crossover history/model making/engineering videos? Time might tell, but it often doesn’t.
