The inhumane torture carried out on prisoners throughout the Second World War was often disguised as scientific experimentation. Many of the doctors who carried them out believed that these “sacrifices” were essential for the advancement of knowledge, while others only wanted to see the enemy suffer for racial reasons. The most terrible of these behaviors did not occur in Europe, but in the extreme east of the Asian continent.
